About Vintage Frame
What we like about Vintage Frame is how little it tries to be everything — it does abstract, and that is the job we wanted filled on the Digital Papers shelf. It comes from Almairatype Studio. With 3 saves it has barely been seen, and that is neither a good nor a bad sign on a catalogue this size. Nobody has reviewed it, which we do not hold against a new file — but it does mean the preview is the only honest evidence.
We would use it the way the listing hints — antique — and that is also where we would start if you are trying it for the first time. Look for a repeat that tiles. A sheet that cannot be extended runs out exactly when the spread needs one more strip. How to use this printable
- Download the kit from Creative Fabrica and unzip it — most kits are JPG or PNG pages plus a print-ready PDF.
- Print on something heavier than copy paper: 120 gsm and up takes glue and water without buckling.
- Print at 100% and keep «fit to page» off — a shrunk sheet throws off every cut-out that was drawn to size.
- Tea-stain or sand the edges if the set looks too crisp next to the rest of your journal; vintage paper is never evenly coloured.
